How Productive Magazine changes publishing industry with an iPad app

Yesterday the Productive! Magazine iPad App launched. We've proven the point that not only big magazines like Wired or Newsweek can have iPad versions but also independent and small niche magazines can offer a great iPad reading experience. Macoscope guys ported the app from the PDF and it's really something:

I think it changes the whole "magazine" industry as the iPad becomes the go-to device for reading content and we believe every magazine should be an app. And here's our take on that.

The magazine features video content embedded inside, great navigation, both horizontal an vertical reading and interactive places where you can click on links to go to articles and related web sites.

Here's my video all about it - I'm so happy we're part of this magazine revolution:

Each issue of the magazine will cost $0.99 to cover preparation costs for the iPad. The PDF edition of the magazine will as always remain free of charge, so readers can choose a good-ol PDF and pay nothing or go with the iPad app and pay 1 dollar.

We're working now on porting the old issues of the magazine to the iPad (the issue one with David Allen, as well) and we'll be rolling out future issues as both the iPad apps and the PDFs.

The magazine reached Top 10 in Lifestyle

We just noticed that the magazine is already in Top 10 paid apps in the Lifestyle category in the US iPad Appstore. This is really good news and we hope you'll spread the word :-)

We really believe in this iPad publishing platform and we think it'll be the future of magazines and our Productive Magazine (although we'll keep on doing the PDF version for free). Thanks for the heads up, TesTeq!
