Interesting observation about the iTunes store: So long, break-even

This is really amazing. Even though Apple is mainly focused on selling hardware and they do software to support selling hardware (I should know, I'm writing this on my iPad 4 and I have my iPhone 5 in my pocket) they make quite a few more bucks on the software front.

Even though $2B in yearly profit would be great for any other company, for Apple it's still just a small percentage of their business... but it's there... and as we can see, even marginal business can bring nice profits.

It's a good idea to have a side business that (a) supports your main business (b) turns enough revenue that you don't have to feed it with the profits from other businesses. A food for thought.
