"Reading" Audiobooks while doing sports - ProductiveShow.com

Last week we went skiing with my wife, my brother and his fiancee. Great times. I love skiing - it's a great mixture of speed, fresh Alpine air, beautiful views, etc... and this time I added something else to the mix - I bought two audiobooks: Rework and Swtich and installed them on my iPhone... wondering if I manage to "read" them while skiing. The results surprised me:

As you can see, I "read" two books during a week-long holiday. Effortlessly, and with lots of ideas for my business, life and blogging... cool. I'll post my review of Switch later this week on this blog.

This week I bought two new audiobooks and while I was driving around my city running Errands I almost read the first one already! Cool.

Check out my other 2-minute productivity videos on my other blog: Productive! Show

P.S. This was my fist productivity video recorded in HD, hope you like the improved quality :-)

Question: Do you "read" books by listening to them? Did you ever try? Do you like someone reading stuff to you?

I did this a few weeks ago when I went skiing - and I listen to audiobooks all the time when I'm working out at the gym.

Now I'm listening to audiobooks in the gym, too. Also while driving and walking... great way to consume content. Thanks for your comment Jess!

For me the best thing was when The Economist created their audio version. I download this each week and burn to a CD to listen in the car on the drive to work & back. Great productivity tool, but I occasionally need to backtrack as the driving conditions require single rather than multi-tasking.

The cool thing about driving the car and listening to audio content is that driving doesn't require too much thinking... and even better yet - if you're driving and listening, you're not in a hurry anymore. You're not bored, you're not rushing... because you're "reading" a great book in the meantime.

Just "read" another audiobook yesterday while driving and running errands. It's incredible how much audio content you can absorb while moving from A to B.

Thanks for your great comment tonyjaygee!

Yes, it's great while driving or cleaning the house > it becomes a fun time! :D

Exactly my point! Audiobooks make boring tasks like cleaning stuff, driving, waiting for someone pure fun! No stress, no problems, you're listening to cool stuff anyway!

Great comment Nejc!
